The UnInstitute of Unruly Bodies
Or we call it The Breakfast Room.
Foundational Knowledge
Our thinking is informed by the following schools-of-thought and radical theorists:
We believe that fat-antagonism is not a separate oppressive ideology, but a main mechanism for surveillance, policing, and extracting from marginalized folks. Thus, Fatness is an essential political embodiment of abolitionist principles and anti-colonial resistance.
Therefore, it is essential to create spaces where Fat people can exist, experiment, explore, and expand in the ways our bodies demand of us.
Fat-Antagonism is…
sometimes referred to as fatphobia, fatasia, anti-fatness, etc.

Who We Are
-
This space is made for, by, and with Fat people. To maintain our commitment to Fat Liberation principles, we ask that only those who identify as Fat* join UUB.
If you’re an ally, check this out, though.
-
Integrity, creativity, and empathy shape the way we work. These aren't just words—they’re the foundation of everything we build.
-
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
